Life around the house
For one family, life around the house means a long table and friends every weekend. For another, it is a quiet morning outside. The view from the kitchen, the children within sight, a place in the shade — each family brings its own wishes.
We start with those wishes and how they fit together. The house, the plot and the space around them become one place to live.

A Family Garden on a Hillside, Prague
A family with a five-year-old and a university student wanted two things from one plot: a quiet Japanese garden to be on their own in, and room for a houseful of guests around a pool. The slope, cut into terraces, keeps the two apart.

Evenings in a Garden of Scents, Akmanai
Evenings in the gazebo, roses along the walks, and the scent of lavender and thyme coming in through the open windows. For ten years the garden has grown with the family, one bed at a time, across 3,000 m² on a gentle slope.

Nine Years of a Garden, Akmanai
Lawns to walk on, a hanging chair by the stone wall, the pavilion by the terrace — and a garden that keeps its shape all year, its red dogwood stems standing against the snow. Nine years on, it looks the way it was drawn.
